How Verification Works
What we check before a listing gets a Verified badge, what that badge means, and what it doesn't, and how we handle reviews and incorrect-information reports.
What we check
- Before a listing goes live at all, we do a quick moderation review of what was submitted, catching obvious errors, spam, or duplicate listings.
- For the Verified badge specifically, our team manually checks basic details: that the business is a real, operating business, and that its registration, address, and contact information look legitimate. For listings sourced from the KVK Handelsregister (the Dutch business register), the registered name and legal form come from that public record.
What the Verified badge means
- It means desibiz.nl has manually confirmed the business is real and its basic details check out, not that the business paid for it, and not that it's endorsed or recommended by desibiz.nl.
- Unverified listings can still be genuine businesses, verification is an extra check, not a requirement to appear in the directory.
What it does not guarantee
- The Verified badge is not a guarantee of service quality, pricing, availability, or the outcome of any interaction you have with the business.
- It doesn't mean we've visited the business or tested its services, it's a check on identity and basic details, not a quality audit.
How often information is reviewed
- We don't currently run information through on a fixed schedule. Details get re-checked when a listing is significantly updated, or when we receive a report that something looks incorrect (see below).
- If you're a business owner and your details change, please update your listing or contact us, we don't automatically detect changes.
How to report incorrect information
- Every business page has a "Report incorrect information" link. Sign in, tell us what's wrong in up to 100 words, and your account email is attached automatically so the business or our team can follow up.
- Reports go to our moderation team for review; we may update or unpublish a listing if we can't confirm its details.
How reviews are collected and moderated
- Reviews are submitted by customers directly on a business's page. Each review goes into a moderation queue before it's published, we check for obvious spam or abuse, not for whether the review is favorable.
- We don't remove reviews just because a business disagrees with them. Businesses can respond to incorrect factual claims by using the same incorrect-information report above.
Questions
- If anything here is unclear, or you think a listing's status is wrong, email us at contact@desibiz.nl.
