Jumbo Extra's is Jumbo's free loyalty program, and two features make it worth setting up in your first week of grocery shopping here: six personalized discount deals every week, and a savings stamp trick called koopzegels that turns spare change into a guaranteed 4% return. Neither costs anything beyond the groceries you were already buying.
What Is Jumbo Extra's
You join through the Jumbo app (or a physical card registered online), and the program combines a few separate mechanics: points on selected promotional products, personalized weekly offers, digital stamps for seasonal campaigns, and the koopzegels savings feature described below. Everything is tracked automatically once you scan your digital pass at checkout.
Six Personal Deals Every Week
Every week, Jumbo unlocks six personalized discounts in the app based on what you tend to buy. You open the "Aanbiedingen" tab, activate the ones you want, and scan your pass at self-checkout to apply them. Deals refresh on Wednesdays, so it is worth a quick check before your weekly shop.
Spaarproducten Points for Free Items
Separately from the personal deals, Jumbo flags certain promotional products (Spaarproducten) each week in-store and in the app flyer. Buying these earns points you can later redeem for free items such as coffee, oil, or snacks on a future visit.
Koopzegels: The Savings Stamp With a 4% Return
This is the standout feature for budget-conscious shoppers. Turn on digital koopzegels in the app, and for every €1 you spend in-store (online orders do not count), you pay an extra €0.10 toward a digital savings stamp. Once you have collected 25 stamps, you have paid in €2.50, and Jumbo pays it back as €2.60, a 4% return credited automatically. You can use the saved amount against groceries or have it paid out to your bank account, which is a notably better rate than a typical Dutch savings account offers.
Discounts on Days Out
Jumbo Extra's points can also be put toward discounted tickets for Dutch attractions such as Efteling or Toverland. Discount levels vary by park and by season, with some campaigns running into the 40 to 50% range, so check the "Dagje Uit" tab in the app for the current offers rather than assuming a fixed percentage.
Digital Stamps and Digital Receipts
Jumbo has moved most of its seasonal stamp campaigns (think cookware or kitchen textiles) to a digital format, so there is nothing to stick into a booklet anymore, and you can transfer spare stamps to a friend or housemate in a couple of taps. Every receipt is also stored automatically under "Mijn Jumbo," which is handy for returns or for splitting the shopping bill with a flatmate.
How to Sign Up
Download the Jumbo app, register with your email and Dutch address, then go to the "Zegels" tab to switch on digital stamp collection and koopzegels. Adding your barcode to Apple Wallet or Google Wallet makes checkout faster.
If you are also looking at Lidl Plus or Albert Heijn Premium, Jumbo Extra's sits in between: it is free like Lidl Plus, but the koopzegels mechanic gives it a genuine savings-account-style return that neither of the others currently offers.
